Encore
Fictional artists. Music and visuals made with generative AI.
"Encore" is one of those songs that started with a very small moment and somehow became much bigger in my head.
Three chairs, a table, a bottle of water, a few people listening to me sing.
Then, after I finished: One sentence.
But sometimes one sentence is enough to change the way you see everything that comes next.
Musically, I wanted "Encore" to feel the same way: intimate at first, almost like you're standing right beside me, and then suddenly much wider.
There’s a lot happening underneath it: melodic slide guitar, shimmering 12-string guitars, analog synths, modern textures and drums that hit hard without taking over the song.

Encore / Once more from the top
Lyrics
Verse 1
Three chairs and a table
A bottle of water, sealed
Somebody reads my name
The way you'd read a question
I sing it once
Nobody moves
One pen stops writing
Halfway through a word
Read all the lyricsShow less
Pre-Chorus
Then a voice from the table
Soft, in careful English
Could you do that again?
Chorus
Encore (encore)
Once more from the top
Encore (encore)
Everything I've got
Some words sound the same
In every language
(Encore)
Verse 2
Outside, a street of signs
I can't read yet
I switch my phone back on
Forty messages waiting
I answer only one
Four words, no emoji
They want it twice
Pre-Chorus
You ask me how it felt
Like missing a step in the dark
And landing on my feet
Chorus
Encore (encore)
Once more from the top
Encore (encore)
Everything I've got
Some words sound the same
In every language
(Encore)
Bridge
Here's the secret
Right before the first note
There's a silence
Everybody hears
And nobody names
That's where I live now
From the top
From the top
Final Chorus
Encore (encore!)
A thousand voices now
Encore (encore!)
Where there used to be three
Some words sound the same
In every language
Encore
